Release Date: April 20, 2026
We're excited to share the latest updates to Polaris Beta! This month's release brings a more connected present levels experience, a smoother Library-to-IEP workflow, and Spanish language support for Parent Input Surveys. Here's what's new:
✨ New Features
Add Profiles Directly from Present Levels
We've made it easier than ever to bring profile data into your draft IEP. You'll now see an "Add Profiles" button directly under both the Academic and Functional Development Present Levels inputs in the Beta writing experience.
How it works:
- Click "Add Profiles" under either present level input to open a side panel showing profiles available for that student, filtered by their grade level, licensing, and ULS seating.
- Click "Add" on any profile to open it in a new tab and administer it right away.
- When you return to the IEP writing experience, Polaris detects the new profile results and shows a toast letting you know it's "Adding results from recent profiles."
- An AI-generated summary of the profile results is automatically queued into the correct present level input (Academic or Functional) based on the area of focus, so you can click "Insert statements" to pull the summarized evidence into your draft.
- Profiles already attached to the current draft IEP are automatically excluded from the list to prevent duplicates.
The result: a faster, more connected workflow between profile administration and present level writing, with less back-and-forth between tools.
"Add to Roadmap" from Libraries Now Routes to Saved Assessments
Previously, when you clicked "Add to Roadmap" on an assessment from the Polaris Libraries page, the assessment was saved but didn't appear anywhere inside the draft Beta IEP, making it hard to find what you had queued up. That's now fixed.
What's new:
- When you click "Add to Roadmap" on an assessment from the Libraries page and select a student with a draft Beta IEP, the assessment is now routed to the Saved Assessments section of that student's draft.
- The existing visual success confirmation still shows, so you get immediate feedback that the assessment was saved.
- Duplicate detection is built in. If the assessment is already in Saved Assessments for that student, you'll get a clear message instead of a second entry.
- If the backend save fails, the success confirmation is suppressed and an error message is shown instead.
This change applies to draft IEPs in the Beta writing experience only.
Parent Input Surveys Now Available in Spanish
Parent Input Surveys now support Spanish in addition to English, making it easier for Spanish-speaking families to share their perspective in the language they're most comfortable with.
What's new:
- Parents can now switch between English and Spanish when completing a Parent Input Survey, including question text, answer options, and survey page labels.
- Existing surveys and assignments continue to work with no changes required on your end. Language is resolved at the time the parent opens the survey.
- If a language is ever unavailable for a particular survey, the system gracefully falls back to English so the parent can always complete the survey.
The result: more inclusive family input, gathered in the language that works best for each family, with no extra steps for you.
Don't forget!
The Beta IEP writing experience and the new dashboard redesign will become the standard experience in June 2026.
Ready to Try It Out?
The next time you create a new draft IEP for a student, choose the Beta experience to explore these new features. We think you're going to love how much smoother and more intuitive the IEP writing process has become.
As always, we appreciate your feedback as we continue to enhance Polaris Beta. Happy IEP writing!

✨ New Features
Preschool & Transition Areas of Focus Now Supported
Polaris Beta now fully supports "Preschool" and "Transition" as areas of focus within the IEP experience. Previously, assessments scored under these areas were processed by the engine but remained hidden in the UI. Now, these areas are visible in the IEP document, left navigation, and the Setup/Edit Areas of Focus modal. If an assessment is pulled in from the Library for one of these areas, the area is automatically activated for the current IEP session.
Automatic Profile Integration at Draft Creation
When you create a new Beta draft IEP, the system now automatically pulls in recently completed profile results (from the last 9 months) and generates summaries for both the academic and functional present level input fields. You'll see a new loading experience that shows progress as student details are loaded and present levels are generated.
Multi-Assessment Support in Goal Details
When a goal has multiple related assessments, the goal details panel now displays all of them instead of just the first one. Each assessment is shown in its own section with an individual navigation chevron that scrolls you directly to the relevant assessment data.
Dashboard Goal Status Breakdown
On the Polaris Home page, hovering over a student's goal status now displays a tooltip showing the number of goals in each status: At Risk, On Track, Mastered, and Not Started. This gives you a quick snapshot of how a student is progressing across all their IEP goals without leaving the dashboard.
Polaris Browser Extension: Autofill Specific Goals
The Polaris Browser Extension now supports selecting a goal in the extension and autofilling the form in your state’s IEP system based on data related to that specific goal. This is helpful for IEP forms that only need data about 1 specific goal.
🛠️ Improvements
Cleaner Goal & Objective Editing
We've improved how empty goals and objectives behave in the draft IEP editor. If you click "Add Goal" but leave it empty and click away, the empty input is automatically removed. This prevents clutter from accumulating in your draft and keeps the editing experience clean and focused.
Custom Goal Flag on Progress Reports
For students with older goals in their active IEP, the Active IEP Progress by Student Report now properly flags custom goals, making it easier to distinguish between AI-generated and manually created goals.
🐛 Bug Fixes
We've resolved several issues including:
- Fixed an issue where objectives were misnumbered on the Roadmap and data was missing on the Progress Report.
- Fixed a bug where the page did not refresh after the toast notification closed when an IEP was created with existing assessments that generate goals.
- Fixed the goal panel so assessment titles are no longer cut off.
- Resolved an issue where the date filter in the IEP experience was incorrectly hiding assessment data.
Don't forget!
The Beta IEP writing experience and the new dashboard redesign will become the standard experience in June 2026.

We're excited to share the latest updates to Polaris Beta! This month's release brings powerful new features to help you write even more individualized, data-driven IEPs with less effort. Here's what's new:
✨ New Features
Present Level Statements - AI Powered Profile Integration
When a teacher completes a student profile, the system now automatically generates Academic and Functional Present Level statements from those results and queues them for insertion into the IEP draft. A right-side panel now shows which profiles are linked to each present level input, and users can rate the quality of generated statements.
⚠️ Changes that impact you:
- The “Additional Information” section of the beta IEP writing experience, which detailed out the profiles for the student, will now be removed in favor of these present level statement inputs.
- The information from the Additional Information section will be summarized and put into those Present Level inputs, so all the data should remain on the draft IEP.
The result: significantly reduces manual effort writing present levels and helps you show the evidence for the statements, raising the bar for compliance.
Updated Print View for Cleaner Draft PDFs
We've cleaned up the view of the draft IEP when you print the IEP, removing all the help text given to the user on how to fill out the fields.

We're excited to share the latest updates to Polaris Beta! This month's release brings powerful new features to help you write even more individualized, data-driven IEPs with less effort. Here's what's new:
✨ New Features
Auto-Add Related Data in Progress Monitoring for ALL IEPs:
For students with an active IEP in Polaris, goal-related data from other Everway products is now automatically added to the corresponding IEP goals. You no longer need to manually import this data from the Daily Performance modal. Data is automatically associated to the active IEP once per day around 2am EST.
This includes Classic and Beta IEPs now.
Easier Goal Suggestion Experience
When creating a draft IEP, Polaris Beta has been adding all Goal Recommendations to the proper area of focus. This has been overwhelming for some, so now we are adding 2 Goal Recommendations per area of focus (ELA, Math, Communication, etc), and the remaining Goal Recommendations will now appear in the right sidebar when you click Add Goal.
Click the + button in the top right corner of the suggested goal in the sidebar to add it to the draft IEP.
Fine Tune Assessments Brought In During Draft IEP Setup
Now, in the draft IEP set up modals for the Beta experience, users can select/deselect recent assessment results to pull into the draft IEP to build recommendations.

View Profile Results
You can now view the original profile results directly in your Beta IEPs! When you complete a profile assessment for a student, scroll to “Additional Information”, click the 3 dots on a profile in the top right corner, and select “View profile results” to see the results.
Adding Goals from Libraries Page
When you add a goal from the Libraries > Goals tab to a Polaris Beta IEP draft, Polaris now uses GenAI to expand the selected goal text into a fully crafted goal with suggested objectives.
Auto-Add Related Data in Progress Monitoring:
For students with an active IEP in Polaris, goal-related data from other Everway products is now automatically added to the corresponding IEP goals. You no longer need to manually import this data from the Daily Performance modal. Data is automatically associated to the active IEP once per day around 2am EST.
Currently this is only enabled for Polaris Beta active IEPs, but soon we will open this up to work with all active IEPs.
Smarter Goal Formatting for District Compliance
Polaris now helps keep goals more district compliant by automatically filling in missing key details when you update a goal. If your updated goal statement is missing any of the following:
- Date
- Target value
- Mastery criteria
Polaris will append the missing information at the end of the goal statement in brackets [ ].
This lets you write the goal in your district’s required format while still giving Polaris the structured data it needs to support accurate progress monitoring after the IEP is finalized.
Here’s an example of a goal generated by Polaris, not yet changed by a user:
Here’s an example of how a user may change the goal to be more in their districts format:
Here is an example of what Polaris will update the goal statement to be, to make sure it includes mastery criteria text (notice the 3 out of 4 trials in brackets):
🐛 Bug Fixes
We've resolved several issues with goal and objective display, including:
- Goals/Objectives: action bar under the goal (copy, delete, add objectives buttons) now appears after a goal has been re-written to include any missing pieces of data. (Previously had to refresh the page to see them appear)
- Preview Suggested Activities under Goal: L3 skills now appears.
🔮 Coming Soon: Feature Parity & Beyond
We're committed to bringing Polaris Beta up to purposeful feature parity with the Classic experience—while simplifying features to help more users find value in them. Before the end of 2025, you can expect:
Parent/Caregiver Input Surveys - Including the ability for parents and caregivers to complete surveys without needing to log in, making it easier than ever to gather family input.
In Q1 2026, you can expect:

Profile Results in Beta IEPs
You can now include profile results directly in your Beta IEPs! When you complete a profile assessment for a student, those insights will be available to inform your IEP development, giving you a more complete picture of your student's performance across skill areas.
Auto-Add Accommodations
Polaris Beta now intelligently suggests accommodations and modifications based on your student's profile and rubric results. Instead of starting from scratch, you'll see relevant recommendations that align with your student's documented needs—just review, adjust as needed, and you're ready to go.
Goal Feedback
You can now provide feedback directly within Polaris Beta by clicking into a goal and selecting one of the faces at the bottom of the related data right sidebar. Your input helps us continuously improve the quality and relevance of the goals we generate for your students.
Preview Related Activities
When working with state standards on your IEP goals, under the standards in the related data right sidebar, you'll now see a preview of related content from other Everway products (like ULS, News2You, and Inspire) that align with those standards. This gives you immediate insight into what instructional materials are available to support each goal.
Flexible IEP Start Dates
We've heard your feedback! You can now set IEP start dates up to 365 days in the past, making it easier to backdate IEPs when needed. Previously, start dates were limited to today's date or the end of an active IEP, but we've removed those restrictions to give you more flexibility.
🐛 Bug Fixes
We've resolved several issues with goal and objective display, including:
- Fixed date formatting and parsing in generated goals to allow formats like “October 2025” or “2025-10-01”
- Resolved an issue where goals would duplicate if the page was refreshed during generation
- Fixed the goal/objective input field outline not clearing properly after clicking away
- Improved goal selection in Safari (no more double-clicking needed!
